Artist Bio

Privateyez:

Lauren Riegelman (she/her) is a Vermont based artist, specializing in tattoos, custom graphic design, illustration and mural work.

Lauren is owner of the new Privateyez Studio, located upstairs in the Soda Plant, on Pine St. in Burlington, Vermont. Here, she has created a well thought out, intimate setting for her tattoo clients, who come for her unique and recognizable custom blackwork and flash.

Lauren obtained a BFA at Maine College of Art in 2007, with a major in painting, and minor in drawing. She spent the next decade developing an exceptional black and white line art and shading style that can immediately be identified as hers. Along the way she began to build a beautiful portfolio of custom artwork for various hired projects. The progression into tattooing was a natural one, as her work translated so well to skin, and her clients were already deciding which of her drawings would go where.

Lauren began her tattoo journey the self-taught route, before being accepted into an apprenticeship under Ivan Hess. In 2018 she earned her state license, with him as her mentor, and spent several successful years at Fortune Teller Tattoo. Lauren left to open her own private(yez) studio in early 2022, and continues to create custom artwork for many projects and businesses.
